Can attached these commands to you GW2 shortcut. Append to end of the target area field, outside of the quote marks like so :
  1. Right click on your GW2.exe and click create shortcut.
  2. Right click on your GW2 shortcut and select 'Properties'.
  3. In the 'Target Area' field you will see the location of your Guild Wars executable file: "<...>\Gw2.exe"
  4. Write the desired command line arguments after the quote marks, each beginning with a space: "<...>\Gw2.exe" -windowed -nosound

  • -autologin | Automatically presses the log in button upon launch.
  • -email username | Sets the username/email. Good to create multiple shortcuts for multiple accounts. Otherwise obsolete.
  • -nopatchui | Launches the game straight away instead of opening patcher first.
  • -password password | Enters password. Good to create multiple shortcuts for multiple accounts. Otherwise obsolete.

Visual
  • -bmp | Sets your screenshots to bitmap format for better quality.
  • -fps 60 | Limits your framerate to a desired value. Good for keeping FPS stable by keeping the distance between your minimum and max framerate down. Also can be used to keep temps in check if not using vsync.
  • -noui | Removes the user-interface. Works on login screen too. Same as Ctrl+Shift+H.
  • -windowed Makes the game load in windowed or FullScreen Windowed. Even after settings reset after a patch.

Audio
  • -nomusic | Disables just music.
  • -nosound | Disables ALL sound.

  • -perf Not 100% about this; it adds a debug readout to the right hand side, with stuff like FPS, Number of Texture/Characters/Lights/Polygons and other graphical shit.
  • -diag | Does a diagnostics check on your computer. It checks your network hardware, addresses, etc. It then does a traceroute to check your latency/ping, number of hops and packet loss to a number of ANET servers and then performs a direct X diagnostics.
  • -image | Used to download ALL data for the game instead of the default bare essentials. Seems to use old patcher UI as well. Obsolete as of BWE as the patcher downloads everything anyway.
  • -repair | Attempts to repair the gw2.dat file.
  • -useoldlauncher | Reverts to old patcher UI.

Zerg - tactical engagement with numerical superiority. Proven to be worthy tactic trough all human history.

Roll - stupid emote which will force you character roll on the ground, used as sign of superiority in chain of command. Example: "Ok, now who want this item - roll" if officer is pleased you will be awarded with item.
Waiting for a good game

yeah Spike is in general something like if your a team of four elementalists and you have a lightning strike.. and you all use it at the same time on the same guy you are spiking him.. and the idea behind that is you do so much dmg in an instant that you simply kill him at once

Burst as renji mentions is more or less when every partymember or a single guy just uses all their cooldowns to try a burst/burn the mob as low as possible in a shortest amount of time.. generally seen in big raids when your close to reaching an enrange timer and you just have to burst the boss down hope that helps

Clarification, keep all your big burst cooldowns until a party leader calls for a damage spike.
I just imagined Aleiha being one of those four Elementalists and calling Lighting Strike (which btw is autoattack) and then the enemy dodges four lighting bolts striking on the same spot! ...
That's a fraps moment if any!

Spike / Burst = Nuke | Nuking is dealing the most damage possible in the shortest time possible.

Can amend Nuke to say Nuke (Spike / Burst) ??

nah.. Spike is used in pvp and cant really be used in pve since the bosses where it would be needed have so much hp..

spike= using specific high damage skill instantanious with whole party on 1 single target with the purpos to bring said target down before it is possible for him to react..

Nuke/burst is different and is generally mainly used in pve on bosses but ofcourse also in pvp burst is you throw away everything about your standart rotation(which is good sustained damage [to prevent going out of mana in a traditional mmo]) to make a Burst/Nuke rotation which main objective is to deal the most amount of hurt possible in a short duration of time (10 seconds for example) which would most likely leave you exhausted and out of mana in a traditional mana/energy based mmo but it would provide a much higher damage output for the last bit of time.. which is also why Burst/Nuke is mainly used towards the very end of a bossfight and especially is the party is close to hitting the enrage timer..

or like i mentioned in my first post about it.. especially in a game like gw1 and most likely also gw2 spiking and burting may not me considered the same..

since lets take a gw1 example since thats where i have most pvp experience a rank 200 world guild a few years back.. we tended to use spike builds.. we had for example

6 Elementalists
1 Monk
1 Ritualist

for example.. every elementalist which were the spike team had Obsidian Flame

which at rank 16 does 97 armor ignoring damage..

6*97 = 582

most classes in gw1 in pvp players had around 400-500 hp at most making the Spike from the 6 elementalists if properly timed an insta kill

Wanted to post as well and make the distinction between the three, but was on the train...

Spike: In PvP, dealing maximum damage over minimum time to a single target by one or multiple opponents (in which case simultaneous), where the goal is to not give the player or his allies time to react with heal or defensive cooldowns.
In PvE, it usually concerns boss mechanics and it is the same - spiking damage, dodge, use a protection spell, cast a big heal.

Burst: Mostly concerns professions (classes) and builds - in GW2 dagger/dagger Elementalist, Warrior and Thief can run Burst builds, which means that those professions can deal massive damage right at the start of the engagement, putting most of their heavy hitting skills on CD (or depleting initiative). Those would also be the professions that are best at spiking.

Nuke: synonym for dps down until dead, in raiding mythology called towards the end of a fight and meaning ignore other adds, focus boss/target.

I would say spike damage (as an retired tank) is the description of uncertain and/or unstable damage that can frequently change from being very high to almost none existing under none predicting circumstances.

Unlike nuke/burst where the enemy(or your self) use an ability to increase its damage (or just an high damage move with longer cd then others) output for a period of time. This can be predicted unlike spike damage.

Just to prove that I wasn't talking BS in my reaction:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Spike

Here is a nice sentence from a WoW skill/which according to the most of you is also called burst dmg :
PvP - Lava burst and [Chain Lightning], which has no traveling time, if cast in succession will generally hit at the same time for spike damage.

So tbh, basically spike gets used for lots of forms of dmg. Though in the sentece of Pyralspite:
"Spike" - I saw it used I think as some central part to a build's normal routine, something like "I use X as my spike and follow with..."

You can look at it more as Burst dmg (according to most reactions) than the sudden spike dmg of a pve boss.

Just saying

I'll let you lot swooby until a consensus occurs for Spike, Burst, and Nuke. Want to also add Class-Cannon, anyone care to write a correct description as I'm lazy plus not 100% sure how to define it plus any other that describe how a class play's
